Trying to Conceive, Pregnancy & Postpartum

Trying to Conceive

If you are fixating on your fertile window, testing like no tomorrow, or well into the IUI/IVF process, you deserve to be cared for in this tender, sensitive, and life-changing experience. The ups and downs of family planning can be an incredibly consuming process, which is even more isolating when it feels like the world is continuing to move on around you. Whether you simply need space to reflect on what you want for your family or need an outlet to process grief around what you thought family planning would look like, therapy is a powerful tool for holding space for the dance of hope and disappointment that may come with trying to conceive.

Pregnancy

Becoming pregnant can come with a multitude of emotions. It may come as a surprise, or be the outcome of a marathon fertility treatment process. Sometimes pregnancy can be filled with grief and anxiety after experiencing a loss or multiple losses beforehand. No matter where you are on this journey, your experience is valid and therapy can help process bodily changes, symptoms of anxiety, health care system navigation, and social dynamics of becoming a mother.

Postpartum

Caring for a brand new baby while recovering from a major medical event is an incredibly demanding experience. It can be challenging to make time for yourself as you are figuring out how to feed, sleep, and love on your little one. Taking care of yourself is taking care of your baby. Virtual therapy can be a powerful tool for learning how to meet your own basic needs, manage intrusive thoughts, or monitor symptoms of postpartum depression. Even if you are contact napping, mid-bottle feed, sleep-deprived, or pumping, I am happy to meet you where you are to prioritize even just a moment of you time in this phase. Babies are always welcome in session!
