Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) tools that can help you understand your thinking patterns
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most widely known evidence-based practices that helps you understand the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When many people come to therapy, they might have been told by a provider (or Google, ChatGPT, TikTok, Instagram…let’s be honest) that CBT would be the recommended type of therapy for what they need. While CBT is not necessarily a one-size-fits-all approach for everyone, there are a handful of CBT tools that can be very insightful in everyday life.
This page contains the 2 CBT tools I use most often with clients when they are hoping to 1) understand their thinking patterns and 2) consider challenging unhelpful thoughts to write new, more compassionate stories.
